Proficiency

Proficiencies are carried out annually to ensure all of your rescue skills are current. These proficiencies usually involve a multiple choice exam, demonstration of resuscitation techniques, timed run-swim-run, board rescue and tube rescue.
If you gain other awards such as your Advanced Resuscitation Certificate (ARC) and/or Defib, you are required to complete an annual proficiency for this award as well.
Members must complete a proficiency test every season prior to the 31st December. If you gain your Bronze Medallion or Surf Rescue Certificate after the 30th June, you are NOT required to do a proficiency test that calendar year.
Our club will arrange proficiencies at the start of each season, typically conducting three sessions a few weeks apart.
For support documentation to help with proficiency please see our proficiency downloads.
